Minus Fifteen and BF Biosciences Sign MoU to Advance Data-Driven Heat Maps in Lahore
The partnership aims to build a citywide environmental monitoring network and support interventions contributing toward reducing Lahore’s temperature.
LAHORE, Pakistan — [July 23, 2026] — The MinusFifteen Project and BF Biosciences (subsidiary of Ferozsons Laboratories Limited) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on a data-driven environmental initiative focused on understanding and reducing the impact of urban heat in Lahore.
The long-term vision of The MinusFifteen Project is to contribute toward reducing Lahore’s temperature by up to 15°F through coordinated, data-informed environmental interventions. Achieving meaningful urban temperature reduction will require sustained participation from businesses, institutions, healthcare professionals, and local communities.
Under the agreement, BF Biosciences will support the deployment of environmental sensors at selected locations across Lahore as part of its “Be an Icon of Sustainability” campaign. The sensors will initially collect real-time temperature and humidity data, enabling Minus Fifteen to identify environmental patterns, compare conditions across locations, and develop insights that can guide practical sustainability measures. Minus Fifteen is also working on sensors that also collect data on particulate matter among other features.
The wider project plans to establish a network of numerous environmental monitoring devices across Lahore. BF Biosciences will participate in the initial phase by facilitating the deployment of multiple devices at mutually agreed locations.
The collaboration will connect environmental data with actions such as plantation drives, waste-reduction campaigns, green-space development, and public awareness initiatives. It will also engage healthcare professionals to strengthen understanding of the relationship between environmental conditions and public health.
"Environmental health and public health are deeply interconnected, yet we often lack the localized data needed to make informed decisions. Through this partnership, we're measuring Lahore at the neighborhood level to better understand how heat, green spaces, and environmental conditions shape people's health and quality of life. By bringing together businesses, technology, and communities, we're building the knowledge needed to drive meaningful, evidence-based action."

BF Biosciences will assist in identifying suitable sensor locations, coordinating with stakeholders and supporting awareness activities through its sustainability campaign. Minus Fifteen will provide and maintain the sensors while managing data collection, processing, analysis and environmental reporting.
The resulting insights are intended to help stakeholders understand where Lahore’s most significant heat challenges exist and where interventions such as tree planting, shade development, reflective surfaces and the protection of green spaces could create the greatest impact.
“Built on the Ferozsons legacy, BF Biosciences is committed to advancing health and improving lives—recognizing that human health is inextricably linked to the health of our planet. Our collaboration with the Minus 15 Project brings healthcare and climate action together, generating meaningful data for a healthier, more resilient Pakistan.”
- Muhammad Farhan, CEO BF Biosciences Limited
The MoU reflects a shared commitment to moving beyond environmental awareness toward measurable, evidence-based action. By combining technology, environmental monitoring, healthcare engagement, and community participation, the partnership seeks to establish a model that can support healthier and more climate-resilient cities across Pakistan.
